So...I went down the basement and encountered a drip. Coming from the ceiling...weird. Hunted around and realized it must be coming from the middle of the dining room floor...weirder still. Not the bathroom or kitchen or anyplace where water would likely be puddling on the floor.
There was a water bottle tipped over. Slight puddle on wood floor. No obvious large crack in the floor...strange. At least I went down the basement, huh?!

Orange T-shirts
We have an abundance of orange t-shirts at our house this summer, all belonging to a certain boy with matching hair. He got one last summer for playing t-ball, this summer for playing t-ball, and earlier this summer when he participated in the local Safety Town program. T-ball is self-explanatory, but Safety Town consisted of learning all about how to be safe, at an "entering Kindergarten" level...how to ride a school bus, cross the street with a crossing guard, call 911 in an emergency, etc. Also included were fun things like helping to hold a fire hose, seeing an ambulance and police car up close, and taking a walk around the neighborhood. Gene's favorite part was getting a new bike helmet (yeah!!!)... that exactly matched his old one (which is now Lucy's). But, now he has a new shirt to wear as well:)

Gene made sure everyone knew what number was on the back of his shirt..."If you see a number six, that's me."

He was fun to watch on the field this year...he enjoys putting into practice the baseball rules and regulations that he knows oh so well from watching so much baseball on television...like when he "slides" into second or third by jumping and landing on his knees on top of the base, or sticking to his "position" (there are at least 15 kids in the infield, running wildly after each ball) if the ball isn't hit to him.
At Safety Town, they have a "Safety City" set up , where the kids ride tricycles around mini streets, and stop and go on command.

The graduation day ceremonies were a hit...Gene was talking about his graduation from the very first day! I think he was excited that he could "graduate" just like he'd seen my sisters do over the last few years.

In other news, we're hoping to have some really nice pictures taken of the kids by Aunt Reenie (a semi-professional photographer who took great pictures of Gene and Lucy, before Janie was born). Here's the best (and the not-so-good) that we came up with on our own:

So, Reenie...anytime.
