We Need School!

I have noticed a funny thing in the last few weeks/months. The kids are regressing. Gene and Lucy are bored out of their minds at home, and it is starting to show in their behavior. It's not their fault (I take most of the blame...its my job to educate/entertain/etc...) but I have never noticed it to this extreme before. Gene has learned how to read, and has accumulated a wealth of information in the past 4.5 years, and Lucy knows her letters and numbers and such, but we haven't been home often for the last month (3 vacations) and before that we were getting ready and such. And before that, well, I don't know. All I know is I've almost forgotten how I used to teach them anything. We had a "school shelf" with Montessori based items on it, and we pulled it down to put up new shelves in preparation for starting a real Montessori preschool in the fall. I am spending most of my creative energies planning for school, so even though I see the kids acting bored (and I'm talking really bored...Gene was running around with a blanket on his head and shouting- he's always been a pretty mature kid) I don't have a lot of things for them to do. So...I put a few things that I was keeping for September out today from sheer desperation. I hope it helps.
